Fogu Modhu (soft fire in Sardinian language) is a performance for sound and dance improvisation that I have prepared during an artist’s residency in the 2021 edition of Festival Santarte in San Sperate (Cagliari, Sardinia). The performance took place in the Sound Garden of Pinuccio Sciola, and featured the sardinian dancer Giulia Cannas. The sound and the dance were improvised using generative algorithms and chance operations. Part of the soundtrack was generated live directly from the sound of the feet of Giulia hitting the ground and from the noise she made while performing.
