Un Suono in Estinzione – Art, Science & Climate Change
I have been actively involved in Un Suono in Estinzione (USIE), an interdisciplinary art–science project that uses acoustic monitoring of Alpine glaciers to communicate the effects of climate change through immersive artistic experiences. The project, conceived by sound artist and researcher Sergio Maggioni, combines scientific research with sound installations, performances, and public talks to create a sensory and emotional engagement with fragile ecosystems.
As part of my contribution, I have participated in several conferences and public discussions on the project, exploring the intersection of art, science, and climate awareness. I also organized and hosted a session at NABA, where I invited Sergio Maggioni to speak to students and faculty about the project’s methodology, themes, and creative approach.
Through these experiences, I have helped foster dialogue between scientific research and artistic practice, translating complex environmental data into engaging, sensory-driven experiences that inspire reflection on the urgent challenges of climate change.
