Board Member – ELIA (European League of Institutes of the Arts)
I serve as a Board Member of ELIA – European League of Institutes of the Arts, one of the most significant international networks in higher arts education and research. ELIA connects nearly 300 institutions across more than 50 countries and represents over 350,000 students in disciplines including fine arts, design, media, and performance. The network’s mission is to support professional exchange, collaboration, advocacy, and the development of arts education at a global level through events, policy engagement, working groups, and shared research initiatives.
In this role, I engage with international partners to shape policy, exchange best practices, and explore future directions for creative pedagogy and institutional collaboration. The Board comprises elected representatives from ELIA member institutions, promoting interdisciplinary dialogue and strategic initiatives across artistic education.
In November 2024, NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti hosted the ELIA Biennial Conference “Arts Plural” on its Milan campus. The Biennial is ELIA’s flagship event, bringing together leaders, educators, researchers, and students from around the world to discuss pressing topics in arts education such as intercultural pluralism, artistic research, equity and inclusivity, and the role of art and design in driving social and ecological change.
Hosting this event further strengthened NABA’s position within the international arts education community and underscored ELIA’s commitment to fostering open, interdisciplinary dialogue across global institutions.
